Cuba is a country sanctioned by the USA, therefor there are foreign insurance companies that would cover your gear while here. If you plan to rent make sure your insurance covers rentals in Cuba, no local insurance plans cover gear sourced on-site.

Despite all these nuances, there are solutions to achieve peace of mind, and it comes in the shape of a human. Most Rental Houses send a “watcher” that will make sure everything goes well, therefore, they assume responsibility for any damage while the equipment is in their watch. But this is not black and white, sometimes specifics need to be agreed upon before the shoot.
